Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
Somerset County, New Jersey is proactively engaging the public and private sectors in an effort to produce a set of economic strategies that will further job growth and private sector economic investment in our region. Our effort is largely based on the premise that limited public sector investments need to be focused where they can have the greatest positive impact on job creation and private sector economic investment. We also believe the private sector, as the ones who create job and make economic investments, needs to establish the investment priorities.
The primary goal of the economic development strategies effort is to identify projects of regional significance that will further job creation and private sector economic investment in our region. We believe that in identifying regionally significant job creation and private sector economic investment priorities Somerset County, New Jersey will be in a better position to connect with state and federal priorities.
To accomplish our goal we have established a management structure, convened a governing committee, set a project timeline, and engaged partners.
