Employer-Based Wellness

The Somerset County Business Partnership's Workplace Wellness Committee is a cross-section of businesses dedicated to showing fellow members how they can introduce healthy lifestyle choices to their employees. Our goal is to raise awareness about the benefits of employer-based wellness programs and to assist small and mid-sized businesses with putting such programs into action.

The Workplace Wellness Committee meets on the first Thursday of the month from 8:30AM - 9:30AM in the Main Conference Room at the Somerset County Business Partnership.

WHY EMPLOYEE WELLNESS IS IMPORTANT:

Wellness strategies have been shown to have a substantial positive impact to the bottom-line for companies that implement employer-based programs. Extensive research shows that money spent by employers on wellness programs produces significant savings over time (i.e., reduced healthcare expenditures, reduced absenteeism, increased employee productivity and morale). The ROI is at least 3:1 and in some instances much higher.
