PNC Bank is a long established contributor to the Somerset County community with more than 20 retail branches in various municipalities. The county is home to several hundred PNC employees. Additionally, PNC Wealth Management is located in Bridgewater, providing a broad range of financial and investment support to business owners and resident.
Through individual employee contributions, the PNC Foundation, and efforts from the various lines of business that comprise PNC, the company is actively involved in the support of numerous cultural and philanthropic organizations. Examples include Music at Moorland supporting Somerset Medical Center Foundation, Night at the Races supporting the Raritan Valley Community College Foundations, and the Midland Foundation. PNC is also a proud sponsor of the Somerset Patriots.
PNC is also a leader in “green” initiatives, partnering with local and county-wide efforts to increase awareness environmental issues. PNC has more green building than any other company in the world and uses recycled materials for credit and debit cards and checks. The Virtual Wallet program is another method of reducing the need for paper transactions.

The Somerset Hills YMCA is a non-profit community service organization offering programs a support for the health and well-being of the community.
The Y recently completed a $14 million capital expansion at the main facility on Mount Airy Road in basking Ridge. In addition, in 2007 and 2008, satellite facilities were opened in Warren and Bedminster to provide quality programming for people at the periphery of the service area.
The expansion and the opening of the new facilities helped increase membership dramatically, exceeding 20,000 by mid-2008, a 26% increase over 2006. During this time member retention rates exceeded 71%, well over the national average. The Y employs 75 full time staff and 585 part time and seasonal employees.

Verve’s owner, Rick St. Pierre, epitomizes commitment to community. His continuing efforts to support Somerville’s Main Street business community and numerous non-profit organizations serving the Somerset County community, breed success for everyone. As a board member and treasurer of the Somerville District Management Corporation, St. Pierre has assumed a lead role in bringing art and cultural events to Somerville’ central business district.
Throughout the year, Verve fundraisers support non-profit agencies. The annual Crab Fest provides a donation to the Women’s Health & Counseling Center and Meet the Chefs supports the Somerset County Bar Foundation. At his own expense and utilizing his own labor and that of his staff, St. Pierre wired the Tour of Somerville race course this past year so that people could hear race updates at event point on the circuit.
St. Pierre is well aware that what is good for Somerville and Somerset County is good for Verve. He has contributed countless hours and untold sums of money to make Somerset County more vital.
